Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience and understand how our site is used.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and gather usage data.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the website to function properly (e.g., keeping you logged in, processing purchases). These cannot be disabled.

  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use our website (pages visited, time spent, referral source). We use this data in aggregate to improve our content.

  • Marketing cookies — may be used to track whether you came to us from an ad or referral link, to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. These are only active if you have consented.

  • Preference cookies — remember your settings and preferences for future visits.

Your Cookie Choices

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored and delete them individually

  • Block third-party cookies

  • Block cookies from specific websites

  • Block all cookies (note: this may break functionality)

For guidance on managing cookies in your specific browser, visit aboutcookies.org.

Section 08

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

  • Active member data — retained for the duration of your membership and for a reasonable period afterward in case you choose to return

  • Payment records — retained for 7 years as required for tax and accounting compliance

  • Email subscriber data — retained until you unsubscribe, at which point we remove your email from active lists promptly

  • Support communications — retained for up to 2 years to help us resolve any follow-up issues

  • Community content — posts you make in the Skool community may remain visible to other members after you leave, depending on Skool's platform policies

  • Analytics data — aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you individually

When your data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it securely.

Section 09

How We Protect Your Information

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it, including:

  • SSL encryption on our website (HTTPS) to protect data in transit

  • Secure, PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe or equivalent — we never store full payment card numbers

  • Password-protected administrative access to member data

  • Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

  • Regular review of our data handling practices

Please note: No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights regardless of your location:

  • Right to deletion — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions

  • Right to restrict processing — you may ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances

  • Right to data portability — you may request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

  • Right to object — you may object to our processing of your data for marketing purposes at any time

  • Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent to process data, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@thejoyfulwife.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

We will never retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Section 11

Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or store personal information from anyone under the age of 18.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at hello@thejoyfulwife.com. We will take prompt steps to delete that information from our records.

Section 12

Community Platform Privacy

Our membership community is hosted on Skool, a third-party platform. When you join our community, you are also subject to Skool's privacy policy and terms of service, which are separate from ours.

Important: Any information you choose to share in community posts, comments, or your public profile on Skool is visible to other members of the community. Please be thoughtful about the personal details you share — including details about your husband, your marriage, and your family. Do not share information in public community posts that you would not want other members to read.

We moderate our community and take member confidentiality seriously. Our community standards require all members to keep what is shared in the community confidential and not share other members' personal stories outside the group. However, we cannot technically prevent members from doing so, and we are not liable for the actions of individual community members.

If you become aware of a community member violating others' privacy, please report it to us at hello@thejoyfulwife.com and we will take appropriate action.

Section 13

Email Communications

By joining our email list or enrolling in our membership, you agree to receive email communications from us. These may include:

  • Welcome and onboarding sequences

  • Course content and module announcements

  • Weekly encouragement, teachings, or resources

  • Q&A call reminders and replays

  • Promotional emails about new offerings (for subscribers who have opted in)

  • Service notifications and account updates

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in the footer of any email we send. Please note that even if you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we may still send you transactional emails necessary to your membership (such as payment receipts, access notifications, and account-related messages).

We use an email service provider to manage our list. This provider may track email opens and link clicks to help us understand engagement. This data is used to improve our content — it is never sold or shared for advertising purposes.

Section 14

Third-Party Links

Our website and community may occasionally contain links to third-party websites, resources, or services — such as recommended books, tools, or other ministries. These links are provided for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of those websites or their content.

We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or policies of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any external sites.

Section 15

California Residents — Your Additional Rights

If you are a resident of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you specific rights in addition to those described in Section 10:

  • Right to know — you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (we do not sell personal information)

  • Right to delete — you have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions

  • Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information, so this right is automatically honored

  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

  • Right to correct — you have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information

To exercise your California privacy rights, contact us at hello@thejoyfulwife.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
